CorpFree Certification

How independent doctors become certified.

Every practice in our directory has been verified by a human. Here is exactly what’s required to become CorpFree Certified.

01 · What we check

Every member passes the same four checks.

01 · Ownership of record

We review official business-entity records from the appropriate state filing agency, along with ownership documentation provided by the practice, to verify that a doctor—or a private professional entity the doctor personally controls—holds majority ownership. Eligible practices may not have upstream ownership by an outside holding company, management services organization (MSO), or private equity fund.

02 · Active professional license

We verify an active license with the state dental or veterinary board as part of the verification process.

03 · Legal Independence Agreement

The doctor personally attests, in a Legal Independence Agreement, that they own and operate the practice and have not entered into an agreement that transfers control. We keep the signed copy on file.

04 · Certification is ongoing

Certified practices agree to periodic random audits, annual recertification, and prompt notification of any change in ownership structure. These requirements help ensure every practice continues to meet CorpFree’s standards—not just when it first applies.

Now you know what the seal means.

02 · What the seal claims

The seal is a statement of ownership. Nothing more, nothing less.

What it claims

  • The doctor named on the door owns the practice.
  • No corporate parent, DSO, or private-equity fund holds control.
  • The license is active and in good standing.
  • A human reviewer signed off on the listing.

What it does not claim

  • That the doctor is the best dentist or vet for you.
  • That treatment outcomes are guaranteed.
  • That prices are any lower than anywhere else.
  • That independent practice is the only good kind of practice.

We are a directory, not a rating service. We tell you who owns the practice. Whether it is the right practice for you is still your call to make.
